Youth membership is the key to your success as a unit. Without youth participating in your Pack, Troop, or Crew, there's not much reason to have a Scouting unit. Without youth joining your unit, there aren't as many parents you can involve to run a fun and exciting program for your youth. Fortunately, there are many resources available at the council and national level which you can use to make the job of promoting your unit, attracting youth and adults to your unit and registering new people to your unit easier. These resources are freely available to you anytime throughout the year! For a list of these resources available to you, go to HOAC Recruitment Resources. Links to many of the available national resources are included on the HOAC Recruitment Resources page.

Additional Recruitment Resources

Cub Scout Recruitment

All Blue Valley Elementary Schools will host a recruitment Night on Thursday, October 15, 2020.  All youth and parents interested in joining Cub Scouts are invited to attend their school between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM that evening to sign-up!  We are continuing to focus our efforts on recruiting new Cub Scouts in all of our packs and engaging all youth and families to be sure they have a great time in Scouting.  We will be following all COVID safety measures in place by Johnson County and the Blue Valley School District.  Masks will be required for all in attendance that evening. For questions on recruiting or on joining a Cub Scout Pack please email Matt Gettys at matthew.gettys@scouting.org

Troop Open House

The Boy Scout Troop open house allows a Troop to swing open its doors and roll out the red carpet to welcome guests. It provides a forum to show off Scouting activities and the Troop's accomplishments. It is an effective tool to reach youth who have never tried Scouting.

Venturing Open House

Would you like to increase your Venturing Crew membership? Hold a Venturing Crew Open House and plan an awesome program to create energy and excitement in your program.
