Scouting Changes Lives

Outside influences and life experiences contribute to the values and beliefs we carry with us throughout our lives. In society today, there are any opportunities for youth to make the wrong choices or follow a leader who will lead them astray. While Scouting can't remove the obstacles in life, it teaches young people to face challenges, manage risks and overcome barriers - to grow up strong, resilient and wise. Scouting has the power to change lives. Gives to what matters...Achievement. Leadership. Service.

The Friends of Scouting Campaign keeps Scouting an affordable, effective youth development program. It funds the council's infrastructure, or general operating portion of the budget, and provides a support system for the more than 14,000 volunteers and 800 community organizations that partner with the Heart of America Council.

The campaign is divided into two separate efforts: The Family Campaign, which solicits contributions from scouting families, and the Community Campaign, which seeks contributions from business and community leaders.

Family Campaign

The current cost to deliver Achievement, Leadership, and Service in the Heart of America Council is $180 per Scout per year. Family Friends of Scouting presentations take place during Pack and Troop meetings or you may be contacted by a volunteer from your Pack or Troop to consider a gift. Providing to the Family Friends of Scouting Campaign is an opportunity for Scouting families to directly support the Scouting program their families enjoy.

Community Campaign

Individuals or businesses can donate a gift-in-kind, support Fall Cub Scout Recruitment as a T-Shirt Sponsor, or make a direct donation to the operating fund to support our Community Campaign. Any and all support is appreciated and makes a difference in changing lives of the youth we serve.

Patron Luncheon

This event is a luncheon at the Kansas City Convention Center held in March. A keynote speaker is present to speak and individuals or a company sponsors or hosts a table for the luncheon. All proceeds directly benefit Scouting in the Heart of America Council. For more information on the Patron Luncheon click here.
