The Heart of America Council is making it easier than ever to manage your yearly membership with our Unit Renewal Process. This 6-Step plan puts the renewal process in your hands with resources to renew your unit and members all in one place.
The first step is to pick-up your renewal packet at your district's August Roundtable or designated pick-up location. Inside your packet will be your current roster of youth and adults to review as well as other important renewal documents.
Next, your unit's Key 3 will review the roster in your renewal packet. Determine what youth and adults will be returning. Then collect fees for all members.
Next, a designated member of your unit's Key 3 will log-on into My.Scouting.org. This process can begin as early as August 1, 2024.
This next step is a two-step process is probably one of the most important. This is where you will select your unit for renewal as well as validate adults and make roster changes.
First, you will renew your unit’s annual charter. This process is done seperately from member renewals. Cost to renew your annual charter is only $100 per unit and you will bring that payment to the HOAC office (Step-6).
Next, you'll validate adults ensuring proper training and then make any roster changes. This will include adding or dropping youth or adult members.
Now it's time to verify and pay for your members and check out. Select the Pay at Council option.
Because you already collected the fees for your members, this step will help you avoid paying credit card processing fees and will save you money!
The hard part is over, now you just have to turn-in your renewal. Remember to e-sign, print and bring your paperwork along with payment to the Heart of America Council Service Center or your district's designated turn-in location. A member of our team will be able to verify your paperwork and help answer any questions. All renewal packets and payment should be turned in no later than Friday, October 11, 2024 in order to process your renewal accordingly.
