Scouting safely remains our top priority and beginning March 4, 2024, the Boy Scouts of America will enact a new adult application process. The updated process requires that the results of a Criminal Background Check (CBC) must be received BEFORE a new adult volunteer can assume a leadership role.
Once an application is processed, the prospective leader's status will be listed as “pending.” The adult leader will then receive an email notice informing them that their registration is being processed and they are not to assume any leadership role until the completion of the CBC process. The unit Key 3 will also receive an email notification.
Once the CBC results are acceptable and completed, an additional email will be sent to the applicant and unit Key 3. Please note that this process could take up to two weeks to complete. This means that all applications for adult leaders attending camp should be submitted to the Council Service Center or submitted online at least 14 days before day 1 of their camping session.
