The Heart of America Council is committed to being the leading council in the nation and creating the best possible Scouting experience for our youth and volunteers. As part of the council’s 2012-2016 strategic plan, a task force was assembled to review the alignment of our districts. The task force, made up of eleven council volunteers, was charged with determining if the council's current district alignment was providing the best service possible to our Scouts and leaders and to gauge our ability to effectively serve more youth within our communities.
After an extensive seven month review, the task force created a "draft" proposal of their findings. That proposal was presented to the Council Executive Committee on March 26, 2015 and it was approved. The final plan will be put before the Council Board of Directors for a vote this June.
