The council has named Polsinelli Chairman and CEO, Russ Welsh, as this year's Distinguished Citizen, an award honors an individual for their efforts in making a distinct difference in the fabric of our community.

On October 22, more than two-hundred KCP&L employees, community leaders and Scouting volunteers made their way to the downtown Kansas City Marriott Muehlebach for the 2014 Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner. The annual event honors an individual or company in the Kansas City area for their commitment to making our neighborhoods better places to live and work.

The Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes noteworthy and extraordinary leadership of citizens in the Kansas City area. On October 17, Greg Graves, Chairman and CEO of Burns & McDonnell, will be recognized as the 2013 Distinguished Citizen.
