Graves Named Distinguished Citizen

October 17 - Marriott Muehlebach

Established by the Heart of America Council in 1991, the Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes noteworthy and extraordinary leadership of citizens in the Kansas City area. On October 17, Greg Graves, Chairman and CEO of Burns & McDonnell, was recognized as the 2013 Distinguished Citizen. Graves is a native Kansan and an active member of the Kansas City community.

Proceeds from the Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner benefit the Heart of America Council’s Scoutreach initiative. Scoutreach delivers the Scouting program to youth in Kansas City’s urban core and provides a positive alternative to develop values and life skills to those facing difficult socio-economic conditions.

The chairman of this year’s Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner is Mark Jorgenson, President & CEO of the KC Market of US Bank. The event was held at the downtown Kansas City Marriott Muehlebach Hotel.
