Trash the Trash Day

We're partnering with Messengers of Peace on Saturday, May 6th for Scouts Trash the Trash Day - a global day of giving back.

Scouts Trash the Trash Day is an international Messengers of Peace project for Scouts around the world, where each Scout is challenged to bring a friend or family member along and pick up at least 2 pounds of trash.

Scouts Trash the Trash Day is about more than just cleaning our planet, it is a day to show the world what Scouting is all about!

How It Works

  • On Saturday, May 6th, find a safe location along with a buddy and a parent to pick-up trash. A great spot could be around your neighborhood or a public park. Be sure to bring trash bags, gloves, masks and of course maintain social distancing.

  • After you've collected 2 pounds of trash, be sure you have a plan to discard it properly.

  • Participating Scouts will earn 2 service hours upon completion.

  • Don't forget to enter your hours and amount of trash collected by clicking the link below so we can measure the impact Scouts are making across Kansas City.

Made a Global Impact

  • After you've submitted your results locally, register with Messengers of Peace and submit your totals to be counted in the global effort.

  • From here you'll be able to print a certificate and place your pin on the global map alongside thousands of Scouts across the world.
