It's one of the rarest awards earned in the BSA. Now, this Kansas Eagle Scout joins a short list of Scouts who have excelled in outdoor achievement.
We first introduced you to Eagle Scout Luka Herrera from Troop 522 back in September when he impressively earned every Merit Badge possible.
But maybe even more rare, Luka was officially presented the National Medal for Outdoor Achievement this week at the Council Service Center. The National Medal for Outdoor Achievement is the highest recognition that a Scout, Sea Scout, or Venturer can earn for exemplary achievement, experience and skill in multiple areas of outdoor endeavor. The award is so unique that less than 25 Scouts earn this prestigious honor each year.
In addition to the Outdoor Achievement Medal, Luka was also presented all 6 National Outdoor Awards in the areas of Camping, Aquatics, Conservation, Hiking, Riding and Adventure.
