Why Scouting?

Join the Adventure
Learn & Build Character

Scouting is more than just camping and earning badges—it’s a journey that helps young people grow into confident, capable, and compassionate leaders. Through hands-on experiences, Scouts learn values like responsibility, respect, and integrity, all while gaining real-world skills in areas like first aid, STEM, leadership, and outdoor survival. Whether they’re hiking a trail, building a fire, or leading a team, Scouts are developing the tools they’ll use for the rest of their lives.

Scouting also creates lasting friendships and a strong sense of community. It offers youth a safe, inclusive space to discover who they are and how they can make a difference in the world. Plus, families are encouraged to be part of the adventure—creating shared memories through service projects, campouts, and events. At its core, Scouting prepares young people for life—ready to face challenges, lead with confidence, and serve others with purpose.

LEARN MORE

I joined Scouts because of all the different opportunities there were. I saw my brothers join and I wanted to do the same thing. And I soon learned that there’s truly a place for every individual in Scouting.

Haley Haley,
Scouts BSA

Scouts is not just for boys, girls can do just as many things as boys can do. After I joined Scouts, I learned that I was adventurous and I can do this!

Alex Alex,
Cub Scouts

Scouts is like my father figure. My father passed away when I was little and Scouting showed me a direction that I don’t think I would have ever turned to. It’s like a brotherhood and you meet people you never thought you would
