Merit Badge Make-Up Sessions
Need to make-up merit badge requirements that you missed or couldn't complete at summer camp this year? Complete your missing requirements for Swimming and Lifesaving Merit Badges this July and August at two convenient locations. Select your location below to register.

Northland

Scouts must bring their partially completed merit badge card and must be prepared to complete the needed requirements. This means Scouts may need to practice any “in the water” requirements. Scouts needing to complete “in the water” requirements must bring a swim suit and towel. If a Scout is missing a written requirement, print the Lifesaving worksheet or Swimming worksheet and bring to the session.   


This is not a complete course and is only available to Scouts who took Swimming or Lifesaving Merit Badge at either Naish or Bartle and did not complete all the requirements.

LIfesaving Merit Badge (YMCA)


February 27 and March 6
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

$25 fee per Scout due upon registration

To adequately allow for spacing, these courses are limited to 30 Scouts only. Scouts only need to attend one session.
Only Scouts will be allowed in the YMCA pool area (along with instructors), and Scouts must wear a mask when not in the water.

  • Participant must be a registered Scouts BSA member
  • Scout must complete the BSA Swimmer test
  • Scout must have completed Swimming Merit Badge and is at least 12 years old
  • Scout must have completed Second Class requirements 5a-5c; and First Class requirements 6a,6b and 6e
  • Scout should read Lifesaving Merit Badge book prior to attending
  • Scout should be prepared for the "in the water" requirement prior to attending session (1b)
  • Scouts must complete Safe Swim Defense Training online prior to attending
  • Scout should bring a swimsuit, towel, and goggles

     


Swimming Merit Badge (Midwest Aquatics)

March 13 & 20

Course Prerequisites:

  • Scout should read Swimming Merit Badge book prior to attending
  • Scout must complete written portion of the Swimming Merit Badge workbook by the second session
  • Scouts must complete Safe Swim Defense Training online prior to attending
  • Scout should bring a swimsuit, towel, and goggles
     
  • *Requirement 2: This test will be given at the beginning of the first session March 13th. Jump feet first into water over your head in depth, swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: sidestroke, breaststroke, trudgen, or crawl; then swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke. The 100 yards must be swum continuously and include at least one sharp turn. After completing the swim, rest by floating.

     


Lifesaving Merit Badge (Midwest Aquatics)


March 27, April 3 and April 10
12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
