Swimming Merit Badge (YMCA)

Course Prerequisites:

  • Participant must be a registered Scouts BSA member
  • Scout must complete the BSA Swimmer test
  • Scout should read Swimming Merit Badge book prior to attending
  • Scout must complete written portion of the Swimming Merit Badge workbook by the second session
  • Scouts must complete Safe Swim Defense Training online prior to attending
  • Scout should bring blue merit badge card, swimsuit, towel, and goggles
  • Scout Should bring a lunch and a drink

  • Scout must have completed Second Class requirements 5a-5c; and First Class requirements 6a,6b and 6e
  • Scout should read Lifesaving Merit Badge book prior to attending
  • Scout should be prepared for the "in the water" requirement prior to attending session (1b)
  • Scouts must complete Safe Swim Defense Training online prior to attending
  • Scout should bring blue merit badge card, swimsuit, towel, and goggles
  • Scout Should bring a lunch and a drink


Swimming Merit Badge (Midwest Aquatics)

September 25 and October 2
1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Midwest Aquatics | 7565 West 160th ST. Overland Park, KS 66085
$20 fee per Scout due at first session (cash or check only)

To adequately allow for spacing, these courses are limited to 25 Scouts only.
*Scouts must attend both sessions.
Only Scouts will be allowed in the pool area (along with instructors).

  • *Requirement 2: This test will be given at the beginning of the first session on September 25. Jump feet first into water over your head in depth, swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: sidestroke, breaststroke, trudgen, or crawl; then swim 25 yards using an easy, resting backstroke. The 100 yards must be swum continuously and include at least one sharp turn. After completing the swim, rest by floating.

     


Lifesaving Merit Badge (Midwest Aquatics)


November 6,13 and 20
