Downtown BBQ Helps Send Scouts to Summer Camp

On Friday, June 22, the Heart of America Council will host the 20th annual Scout City BBQ in downtown Kansas City, MO. Since 1998, the Scout City BBQ has raised more than $300,000 for Scoutreach—a program that helps at-risk youth build strong character, a sense of citizenship and long-lasting skills to improve their lives. Event proceeds allow these Scouts opportunities they might not otherwise have, like going to summer camp.

The Scout City BBQ will be held at Barney Allis Plaza in downtown Kansas City, MO from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The event is open to the public and this year’s meal will be catered by American Royal Grand Champion Plowboys BBQ.

Individual tickets are $12 and include a pulled pork or chicken sandwich, sides, ice cream and drink. Sponsorships are also available. Order tickets below or contact Niel Campbell at 816-569-4949 or niel.campbell@scouting.org for more information.
