Northern Lights Advancement Committee
The Northern Lights Advancement Committee is responsible for implementing and facilitating advancement and processing special awards and recognitions. The committee oversees STEM/NOVA, Unit Advancement, and Eagle Project Coordination. They are led by Advancement Committee Chair, Chad Shiner.
Northern Lights District Advancement Chair
Reporting Internet Advancement is a requirement of the Boy Scouts of America. Units should select an advancement processor who is granted access with a council-provided unit ID. It is recommended that units report advancements monthly to ensure timely credit for a youth's achievements. Eagle Projects and Boards of Review
At every Roundtable, prospective Eagle Scouts can have their projects reviewed and approved by members of the District Advancement Committee. These Scouters are there to assist prospective Eagle Scouts to ensure their projects are not only valuable to the community and/or chartered organization, but also meet the leadership requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout. If your unit or Scout needs assistance, feel free to visit with the project reviewers.
Scouts can turn in their final project and Eagle Application at each Roundtable. Once approved, Eagle Boards of Review are scheduled through Chad Shiner by the Troop. A district representative attends the Troop Board of Review.

Bobcat Advancement is the first advancement in Scouting and can be earned very quickly. In your Pack, you should have several new advancements in the month of September and October. It is important for your Cub Scout Pack's Journey to Excellence score that those are uploaded in Internet Advancement as soon as possible.
