North Star District Activities

Cub Scout Family Campout

The Cub Family Campout is an opportunity for Cub Scouts and their families to start the Cub Scout year off with a fun outdoor event. This overnight campout will feature games and activities designed for the entire family.  The event will be from Friday, 2 October, 4:00 pm to Saturday, 3 October, early afternoon.

The Campfire Friday night is planned especially for the Cub Family Campers on Friday night.  A fun and engaging activity program is being planned for Cub Scouts and their siblings on Saturday morning after the formal opening.  Adult leadership must rotate with the Cubs, and assist at the activities as needed.

The only meal that will be provided is breakfast Saturday morning (Chris Cakes pancakes).  Please make sure that you eat dinner prior to arriving on Friday.

Camporee

The theme for this year’s Camporee is Apocalypse (Emergency Preparedness).  It will be held at Kelsey Short at Smithville Lake on 2-4 October.  All Boy Scouts are strongly encouraged to involve themselves as either a participant in the Boy Scout program or on staff in the Cub or Webelos programs on Saturday.  Each Troop is encouraged to invite Webelos Dens/Patrols to stay with them.

District Dinner

This will be the final event that North Star conducts. This event will recognize the accomplishments of the North Star District during the 2015 calendar year and the unit and District Leaders for their work on behalf of the Scouting program in their units and throughout the North Star District. This will include the awarding of several leader awards, 2015 Unit Journey to Excellence Awards and the District Award of Merit.

In order to be considered for leader awards at the district level, individuals must be nominated for these awards.  The various nomination awards are downloadable below:
