Vic "Uncle Vic" Allen
Medicine Man Heart In Hand
Warrior | 1941 |
Keeper of the Wampum | 1941 |
Medicine Man | 1942 |
In 1943, Vic "Uncle Vic" Allen, Medicine Man Heart In Hand, was named Senior Medicine Man of the Tribe and the records were turned over to his keeping. Uncle Vic then kept these books in his cabin on the far side of the parade grounds in Camp Lone Star, about where campsite Pawnee is now. When the Memorial Lodge's construction was started, his cabin was moved near it, right across the trail, where it still stands.
He continued to keep the tribal records until he retired from camp in 1959. Starting in 1953 he was assisted in this task by J. D. Hammontree.
