Samuel L. Colville
Chieftain Strong Fighting Bass
At the 2006 Tribal Celebration, Sam Colville, Sachem Strong Fighting Bass, was named as the 77th Presiding Chieftain of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Sam was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout. In college, Sam was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. While serving in the Army, Sam served as a Scoutmaster for a Troop in Germany. Several years later, Sam served Troop 84 as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Advancement Chairman.
Sam became an Honorary Warrior in 1984 and in 2000 he was elevated to Sachem. Sam co-chaired the transportation committee for the 75th Anniversary Celebration. Sam is a member of Order of the Arrow.
Sam served the Pioneer Trails District as Advancement Chairman and District Chairman. He also served as the District Chairman of the newly formed Trail Head District. Sam has been involved with the Heart of America Council as a member of the Executive Board, Council Advancement Chairman, and Chairman of SNAWS.
Sam has received the highest award that can be bestowed by the Heart of America Council, the Silver Beaver Award. He has also received the District Award of Merit from the Pioneer Trails District.
Professionally, Sam is an accomplished lawyer specializing in business litigation. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and in Super Lawyers, Missouri and Kansas. Sam’s civic service includes serving on the board of Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries including 4 years as its chairman. He has also served as President of the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Sam has a daughter and two sons. His son John is an Eagle Scout and a hard-way warrior.
