On June 20, 2011, Kenn Miller became the 11th Directing Chief of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Mr. Miller is a native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and is an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Salem College in Salem, West Virginia, earning his bachelors degree in Youth Agency Administration. This was through the American Humanics program founded by H. Roe Bartle in 1949 to provide college age students the training necessary to work in the non-profit community.
Kenn has served as a professional with the Boy Scouts for over 32 years. He began his career in the Northeast Illinois Council headquartered in Highland Park, IL, serving in two Districts and then as Field Director. During this time he also served several summers as the Director for Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation in northern Wisconsin. In 1992 he was promoted to the position of Director of Field Service in Louisville, Kentucky and then selected as Scout Executive for the Black Swamp Area Council headquartered in Findlay, Ohio. He went on to serve as the Scout Executive for the Greater Cleveland Council before joining the Central Region staff as Deputy Regional Director in October of 2008. He served as the Scout Executive for the Heart of America Council from February 2011 - December 2017.
Kenn is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and has served on staff for Wood Badge and National Camp School courses. He has taught at numerous courses at the Philmont Training Center in Cimarron, New Mexico and at the Boy Scout Center for Professional Development in Texas. He has also served on staff for many National Jamborees.
Active in the community, Kenn has been a Rotary Club member for over 20 years. He is also active in his church having served as an usher and on the capital campaign and finance committees.
