At the 2015 Tribal Celebration, Gary Cover, Sagamore Lone Towering Pine, was named the 86th Presiding Chieftain of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Gary is an Eagle Scout who has camped at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation for over 30 years. He has served as a Camp Scoutmaster for Troop 430, member of the Lone Star Commissioner Staff, and a member of the Perry Lodge Commissioner Staff.
Gary has served in several leadership positions for the Lone Bear District including Membership Chairman, Finance Chairman, and two terms as the District Chairman. He also served as the Chairman for the Heart of America Council Contingent to the 2013 National Jamboree. Gary currently serves as a member of the Heart of America Council Board of Directors as well as a member of the Mic-O-Say Paint and Elevations Committee.
Gary has also served as a Cubmaster, Den Leader, Webelos leader and has attended Webelos Camp several years.
Gary has received the District Award of Merit and has also received the highest award that can be bestowed by the Heart of America Council, the Silver Beaver Award.
Gary is currently the Judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit, Clinton Municipal Division. He also has a law practice with an emphasis in municipal government law.
Gary is active in his community where he is a member and past President of the Clinton Rotary Club and a member and past President of the Missouri Municipal Attorneys Association.
Gary and his wife, Denise, live in Clinton and have 5 children, including two sons that are Eagle Scouts and members of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
