At the 2018 Tribal Celebration, David Charles Chinnery was called by the Council of Chieftains, to become the 89th Presiding Chieftain of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. David is only the third Tribesman to wear all seven colors of paint on his claws.
As a youth, David was a Boy Scout in Troop 284 in Overland Park, Kansas. David earned his Eagle rank in 1983. David then served on the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation camp staff from 1984 through 1991.
As an adult, David served Troop 42 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in various leadership positions. David is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and a past Lodge Adviser. He has been a member of the Heart of America Council Board of Directors since 2001, including service as the Council Camping Chair.
David has received the BSA’s Outstanding Eagle Scout Award and the Council’s Silver Beaver Award. He is a Lifetime Tribal Guardian, James E. West Fellow and a District Award of Merit recipient.
Professionally, David is a banking industry leader, entrepreneur and community enthusiast. He founded Adams Dairy Bancshares, Inc. & Adams Dairy Bank, and served as Chairman, President & CEO. David serves on the Missouri Bankers Association Board of Directors. Under David’s leadership the bank became one of the fastest growing community banks in Missouri. The bank was recognized as one of Kansas City’s best small businesses in 2017 by the 25 Under 25 TM Awards. David was a finalist for the 2016 Ernest & Young (EY) Entrepreneur of the Year® – Central Midwest.
