At the 2013 Tribal Celebration, Casey Halsey, Keeper of the Wampum Quaking Cottonwood, was named the 84th Presiding Chieftain of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
As a youth, Casey began Scouting as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout in Quivera Council in Wichita, Kansas. After his family moved to Topeka and the Jayhawk Council, Casey earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1968.
After college, Casey moved to Kansas City where he joined the Heart of America Council as an active member of several Council committees and the Executive Board. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 16 from 2003 through 2008. Casey has also served as Properties Chairman and as a Vice-President of the Council.
Casey is a Vigil member of OA, recipient of the Silver Wreath award from NESA, a Silver Beaver, a Life Time Dog Soldier, a James E. West Fellow, received the District Award of Merit from Pioneer Trails District, and was awarded the Silver Coup by Chief Eagle from the Sun in 2005.
Casey has also served on the Boards of The Boys and Girls Club, the American Royal, and Bishop Spencer Place, and has served on the Vestry and as Junior Warden at St. Andrews Church.
Professionally, Casey has worked for over 30 years at JE Dunn Construction Company where he is an executive and attorney.
Casey and his wife Paula have two children; a daughter and an Eagle Scout son, Warrior Big Quaking Cottonwood.
