HOAC IS #1 IN THE NATION FOR LEADERS TRAINED WITH 96.6% OF OVERALL VOLUNTEERS TRAINED!!
Congratulations to ALL of our volunteers!!!
Every Youth Deserves a Trained Leader – One of the keys to a successful Scouting experience for young people is trained volunteer leadership. Leadership training provides adult leaders with fundamental information about the aims and methods of the movement, as well as specifics about their particular roles in Scouting.
The Heart of America Council is requiring that all registered leaders are fully trained. Thanks for your help on providing a better program for the youth! To view the council training initiative which affects every registered adult, CLICK HERE.

Cub Scout Leader Training
All Cub Scout Leader training is available online in your www.myscouting.org account. You need Youth Protection and Position Job Specific training to be fully trained for your registered position or the position to which you want to change. Classroom style job specific courses are highly encouraged where possible to get the most out of the program.
What: This energetic training is designed to inform Cub Scout Leaders on how to plan and run a pack overnight campout. It’s more than just camping, the training includes ideas for outdoor activities, games, ceremonies, selecting and using camping equipment, how to run a campfire program, and hands-on Cub Scout cooking demonstration!
Why?: The Boy Scouts of America has made a number of changes to the camping policies for Tigers, Cub Scouts, and Webelos. Besides participating in council camps (day camp, resident camp), packs may organize overnight campouts for boys and their families. Adults leading a pack overnighter must attend BALOO training in order to be issued a tour permit.
