18th Annual GM Pinewood Derby

This exciting race is coming up on Saturday, March 4, 2017, with registration starting at 8am!

The Urban Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America helps over 10,000 young men in the urban core of Kansas City build strong character, a sense of citizenship and long-lasting skills to improve their lives.  One of our biggest fundraisers is our General Motors Pinewood Derby, which takes place every Spring at the General Motors Fairfax Plant.

Around 100 Scouts are expected to participate in the race this year. In addition to the Scout Race there will be an Open Youth Race, an Adult/Corporate Race, and a Car Show!

This fundraiser will include a silent auction, as well as a raffle with the proceeds going to help our underserved Scouts pay for summer camp.  Donated items for the silent auction are tremendously appreciated and tax-deductible.  For more information contact Stephanie Regalia by phone at 816-569-4929 or email

2017 Scout City BBQ

Since 1998 the Scout City BBQ has raised over $315,000 for the Scouting program in the Greater Kansas City area. The success of this event has made it possible to provide youth the opportunity to become Boy Scouts by reducing the cost of Scout registration, camp, handbooks, uniforms and other program essentials.

Your participation and contribution to our Scout City BBQ held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Barney Allis Plaza (12th & Wyandotte) will help the Scouting program continue to assist underserved youth in the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Please consider sponsorship, making a donation, and/or joining us for this great lunch!  This year's BBQ will be prepared by American Royal Grand Champion Plowboys BBQ.

Individual tickets will be sold and will include a Pulled Pork Sandwich or Pulled Chicken Sandwich, Sides, Ice Cream, and a Beverage. For more information contact Niel Campbell by phone at 816-569-4949 or email
