Dig Day is Back

Scouts to Plant More Than 18,000 Flowers

Dig Day is Back

Dig in…get dirty…and make a difference! On Saturday, May 11, Scouts and Kansas City Parks and Recreation staff will team up once again for Dig Day - a day dedicated to making Kansas City even more beautiful. Last year, more than 500 Scouts planted more than 18,000 flowers across the city on Mother’s Day weekend. We’re asking for your help again to make 2019 even bigger. Mark your calendars now and plan to participate.

HOW IT WORKS

  • From 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, work with Parks and Recreation staff to plant flower beds at your specified locations.
  • Bring water, sun screen, work gloves, a cheerful attitude and be ready to have fun and get your hands dirty.
  • Dig Day is a fun way for your unit to earn community service hours and work towards your Journey to Excellence goals.
