District Service Area
The Kaw District serves the counties of Wyandotte, Leavenworth, and northeast Johnson in Kansas and includes the school districts: Easton; Ft. Leavenworth; Leavenworth; Lansing; Piper; Basehor-Linwood; Tonganoxie; Bonner Springs/Edwardsville; Kansas City Kansas; Turner; and Shawnee Mission. The Kaw District and the Heart of America Council is dedicated to supporting the volunteer Scout leaders as they provide the programs of the Boy Scouts of America to the youth in this area.

Spring 2022 Cub Scout Family Campout
Parent's / Leader's Guide (Schedule is subject to change)
When: May 7-8, 2022

Register Here: Registration Closes 4/30/2022 at midnight.
The Cub Scout Family Campout is an opportunity for Scouts and their families to escape the indoors. This overnight campout will feature games and activities designed for the entire family.
Enjoy outdoor games, BB shooting, Archery, Stem Projects , Scouting skill, crafts and even special gifts for Moms!
Only $20 per person! This includes dinner Saturday, a snack after the Campfire, and Breakfast Sunday morning.
Bring a Buddy! Invite friends/ families that are not currently part of scouting and let them get a taste of scouting!
Opening Flag Ceremony starts at 1:00 PM Saturday 5/7/22. And the Closing Flag Ceremony will be at 11:45 am Sunday 5/8/22.
Spring 2022 Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
Kaw and Iron Horse Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS). Will be held April 1st-2nd , 2022 at Camp Naish.
- Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS) is a hands-on training program to give adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the outdoors.
- This course is required for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to complete Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training. All attendees must be registered Scouters.

2022 Fundraising

District Merger
On August 1, 2020 the Kaw District merged with the Shawnee Trails District to better serve the youth in the Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties, and the Shawnee Mission School District. The merger of these two districts have formed the new Kaw District. District leadership is currently working together to ensure that commitments for both districts like school night, training, and other activities are held as planned. Roundtable
Currently Roundtable is being held on the first Thusday of the month, at Bonner Methodist Church, starting at 7pm. The Eagle project reviews and Eagle Board of Reviews will be handled in-person -- For information on the Eagle process, please see the Advancement page.
