Trails West District Activities and Camping

The Trails West District holds a number of events that enhance the Scouting program in Western Johnson County. Mark your calendars for activities like Klondike, Merit Badge Forum, Cub Scout Day Camp, Cub Scout Family Campout, and Fall Camporee.

Webelos Walkabout

This is an opportunity for Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts and their paretns to visit the many troops in the Red-Tailed Hawk and Trails West Districts, arrange for troop visits and participate in hands-on activities with Boy Scouts.  Webelos visiting all units will receive a Webelos Walkabout 17 patch.


The Camporee will be help on October 9-11, 2015 at Naish Scout Reservation.  The Camporee is for all Boy Scouts and 2nd year Webelos Scouts.  This is a weekend long campout of fun.  Boy Scouts will campout all weekend and will participate in activities that require Boy Scout outdoor skills.  Activities will run all day on Saturday and a fun campfire program will take place on Saturday night.  Webelos will have a chance to participate and see what Boy Scouts do.  This will be a fun outdoor weekend for all Scouts!

District Dinner

This will be the final event that Trails West conducts.  To be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, gathering will start at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and program to follow at 7:00 p.m., the dinner will be held at Kaw Prairie Community Church, 9421 Meadow View Dr., Lenexa, KS.  This event will recognize the accomplishments of the Trails West District during the 2015 calendar year and the unit and District Leaders for the work on behalf of the Scouting program in their units and throughout the Trails West District. This will include the awarding of several leader awards, 2015 Unit Journey to Excellence Awards and the District Award of Merit.
