Cub Scout Family Campout
Cub Scout Family Campout is an overnight campout for new Cub Scouts in the fall. Over 400 people came in 2014 and enjoyed snacks, breakfast, campfire and plenty of games and fun! Thank you to all of our volunteers who make this event a success!
Camporee is a fun filled weekend for all Webelos, Boy Scouts and Venturers. The 2014 North Star Camporee has some big changes coming up this year so check back often to see the new line up of competition activities, merit badges and exhibitions! The 2014 Camporee is set for October 17-19, 2014 at Kelsey Short Campground in Smithville!.
Check in for the Troops are October 17th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Upon arrival, you will be asked to identify your unit prior to proceeding to your assigned campsite. Set up camp and an adult leader will bring the completed troop attendance roster and any remaining fees to the District/Camporee Headquarters. Final check-in will occur Saturday Morning at Camporee HQ. All vehicles will be removed from campsites by 9:30 PM. EACH UNIT is required to verify their numbers by noon on Saturday.
Registration fees for Scouts and Scouters are $10.00 per person. Webelos fees are $10.00 each for both boys and adults. Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts and adult leaders are $10.00 each. There will be a unit fee of $15/unit.
Registering as a walk-in: $15/participant, $20 unit fee.
Checks are to be payable Heart of America Council. The fees help cover the cost of the awards and facility costs.
Prior to Camporee:
Have Catapult Designed and have test built and fired catapult.
This is a speed and safety issue for all involved.
The planning, design, construction and firing SHALL be by Scouts, not Scouters, both before and while at Camporee.
A Scouter’s role is as an advisor only. If we see or hear that Scouters have been involved, beyond an advisory roll, the patrol/unit can and will be disqualified
