At the 2011 Tribal Celebration, Frank Wright, Keeper of the Wampum Red Leg Eagle, was named the 82nd Presiding Chieftain of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

Frank was a Boy Scout and an Explorer in Topeka, Kansas – now the Jayhawk Area Council. He became an Honorary Warrior in 1993, was elevated to Sachem in 2005, and in 2010 was elevated to Keeper of the Wampum. Frank is a Life Member Dog Soldier of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

Frank has served as a Den Leader and Webelos Leader for Packs 3053 and 3072, and Cubmaster for Pack 3072; Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster for Troop 59, where he currently serves as a Committee Member/advancement coordinator. 2011 will be his 19th year of full-time camping at Bartle with Troop 59, including four years as Scoutmaster.

Frank also has served as a Unit Commissioner for Pack 3053, Assistant District Commissioner for Webelos, District Membership/Relationships Chair, District Finance Chair and District Vice Chair for Pelathe District, where he currently serves as District Chairman. Frank served as Chair of the Council’s 2010 Centennial National Jamboree Committee. Since 2008, as District Chairman, he also has been a member of the Council’s Executive Board/Board of Directors.

Frank has received the highest award that can be bestowed by the Heart of America Council, the Silver Beaver. He also has received the Pelathe District Award of Merit and NESA Scoutmaster Award of Merit, is Wood Badge Trained, a James E West Fellow and a member of the Council’s Heritage Society.

Professionally, Frank is a senior vice president for Capitol Federal Savings Bank, where he has worked for over forty years, and is responsible for electronic banking and banking services for the bank.

Frank retired from the Reserves of the United States Army as a Colonel, Field Artillery after 32 years of service, during which he was recognized with the U.S. Army Legion of Merit award and inducted into the Ancient Order of St. Barbara. Frank also has been inducted into the Kansas National Guard Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame, and was appointed by the Adjutant General of Kansas to a three year term as the Honorary Colonel of the 130th Field Artillery Regiment.

Frank and his wife Kim have two grown sons, both Eagle Scouts – Geoff is TomTom Beater Swift Red Leg Eagle and Jordan is Shaman Soaring Red Leg Eagle.
