WHY? We will float on an exclusive section of the Big Niangua River, a half hour north of Bennett Springs. Living Waters is the only canoeing outfitter that has takeout on our section of the river. Without outfitters we will have that section of the river all to ourselves. You can’t beat the level of Privacy! Completely in the middle of the wildlife this float trip will truly let you truly relax and enjoy the time with your group and other ventures.
COST? $40. Included in the fee is camping, the float on Saturday, lunch on Saturday, a cracker-barrel put on by the VOA on Saturday night, insurance, and an event t-shirt!!
TRAVEL? Crews and Posts will travel to Living Waters on their own. Upon check-in at Living Waters, you will be directed to the campsite(s) where the VOA is camping. Units will pick their own camp areas within the campsites, first come, first served!
What will I need? You will need food for other meals and camping gear.

Recent Age Requirement Changes Took Effect March 1
Remember that all new Venturer youth over the age of 18 must fill out an Adult Application, with Consent for Criminal Background Check, rather than the Youth Application. They must also take Venturing Youth Protection Training at www.myscouting.org. Please see page 7 of the guidelines listed in this site for all details. http://www.scouting.org/filestore/venturing/pdf/VenturingFAQs.pdf

All you have to do is provide a flyer with your crews event info (event name, who, what, when, where, why, how, costs, contacts, etc) to the VOA at email@example.com at least 6 weeks in advance of your event and we will post it to this page of the council website to help you promote your event.
