2015 Venturing and VOA Upcoming Events
October 24-VOA Haunted Trails!!!
The VOA meets on a monthly basis on the fourth Thursday of every month from 7:30-8:30pm at the Council Service Center. One of their key responsibilities is to plan and execute activities throughout the year to provide Venturing Crews throughout the Heart of America Council some activities to supplement the program already planned as a Venturing Crew. Those events include the VOA Winter Event, VOA Awards Banquet, VOA Float Trip, and the VOA Haunted Trails. Ideally, at least one Officer from every Crew in the Council would be in attendance to every VOA meeting. The upcoming meetings are as follows:
September 24, 2015
October 22, 2015
November TBD, 2015
December TBD, 2015
January 28, 2016
February 25, 2016
March 24, 2016
April 28, 2016
May 26, 2016
If you want to learn more about the VOA, or want to volunteer to help run one of these events, or have an idea for an event of which you would like to lead the planning, promoting and delivery, please contact the members of the VOA by emailing Stephanie Regalia, VOA and Venturing Staff Adviser, at email@example.com.
VOA Meetings can found on the council calendar by clicking here. VOA Meetings are held at the Heart of America Council Office, 10210 Holmes Rd, KC MO.
Recent Age Requirement Changes Took Effect March 1
Remember that all new Venturer youth over the age of 18 must fill out an Adult Application, with Consent for Criminal Background Check, rather than the Youth Application. They must also take Venturing Youth Protection Training at www.myscouting.org. Please see page 7 of the guidelines listed in this site for all details. http://www.scouting.org/filestore/venturing/pdf/VenturingFAQs.pdf

All you have to do is provide a flyer with your crews event info (event name, who, what, when, where, why, how, costs, contacts, etc) to the VOA at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 6 weeks in advance of your event and we will post it to this page of the council website to help you promote your event.
If you are aware of an item that is scheduled but not listed above, you need more information, or if you have questions about Venturing activities throughout the council, please contact the VOA at email@example.com.
