The Boy Scouts of America provides programs for boys ages 7 - 20 and girls ages 14 - 20.
A school-year program for first grade (or 7 year old) boys, and their adult partners that stresses simplicity, shared leadership, learning about the community, and family understanding.
A year-round program uniquely designed to meet the needs of young boys and their parents. The program offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development, citizenship, and physical fitness.
A program for boys 11 through 17 designed to develop character, citizenship, and fitness. Through the advancement program and peer group leadership, Scouting helps a boy develop into a well-rounded young man.
A development program for young men and women 14 years of age (and in the 9th grade) through 20 years old offering fun and challenging activities that promote character development, citizenship and physical fitness.

The Boy Scouts of America is part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) which recognizes Scouting programs in at least 216 countries.
Advancement & Awards
Scouting offers a rich experience of rank advancement in all of its programs and awards both youth and adults for their achievements.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. STEM is part of an initiative the Boy Scouts of America has taken on to encourage the natural curiosity of youth members and their sense of wonder about these fields through existing programs.
Districts are directly responsible for the operation of Scouting units and, except for the district executive, are mostly staffed with volunteers.

A career awareness program for young men and women ages 14 through 20 which helps match career ambitions with community and business resources of the Kansas City area.

The Golden Eagle District serves the North Kansas City, Liberty, Smithville, Kearney, Excelsior Springs, and Lawson School Districts
The High Trail District serves the Lee’s Summit, Raytown, Grandview, Hickman Mills, and Lone Jack School Districts.
The Iron Horse District serve the Olathe, Spring Hill, DeSoto, and Gardner/Edgerton School Districts.
Wyandotte and Leavenworth Counties in Kansas.
Johnson, Henry, Bates and St. Clair Counties in Missouri.
The Mormon Trail District is here to serve our LDS partners: 2,070 youth, 1,942 adult leaders, and 178 units.
The Northern Lights District serves the Park Hill, Platte County RIII, West Platte RII, and North Platte RI School Districts.
Douglas County, Kansas.
Metropolitan Kansas City including the Kansas City, Missouri and Center School Districts.
The Shawnee Trails District serves the Shawnee Mission School District.
The Spirit Trail District serves the Belton, Raymore-Peculiar, Pleasant Hill, Strasburg, East Lynn, Harrisonville, Midway, Drexel, Cass County R-V, Sherwood-Cass, Miami, Adrian, Ballard, Butler, Hudson, and Rich Hill school districts.
