Heart of America Council Camp Maintenance Team
Each year, hundreds of volunteers from across the Heart of America Council donate their time to the maintenance and up keep of the Theodore Naish and H.Roe Bartle Scout Reservations by joining the Heart of America Council Camp Maintenance Team.
On scheduled weekends throughout the year, a wide variety of projects are scheduled at both reservations, which include: painting, building repair, tent and cot repair, roofing, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, conservation, and general cleaning.
Work days at the Bartle Scout Reservation open to all registered adult Scouters, 18 years of age or older. Meals and lodging are provided during the weekend at no cost. Troops or Crews interested in participating in Bartle Workdays are responsible for their own meals and lodging and should contact the Bartle Reservation prior to arrival so age-appropriate projects can be scheduled.
Theodore Naish Reservation work days are open to all Scouts and Scouters who pre-register by the Wednesday prior to the workday. Advanced registration is required, and Scout Troops wishing to schedule a special workday or conservation project at the reservations should make special arrangements 30 days prior to their desired date by contacting the reservation office directly.

Maintenance Team Dinner
The Maintenance Team Appreciation Dinner was held January 13, 2010. Check back for the 2011 date.
The summer of 2009 was a banner year for camping in the Heart of America Council, with well over 16,000 Scouts camping at our reservations. A large part of this success was because of the many hours of dedication provided by the Heart of America Council Maintenance Team. Without their efforts and hard work, the Scouts would not have two great camps to receive the quality outdoor program of Scouting. Each year, a special appreciation dinner is held for all members of the Council Maintenance Team. The highlight of the dinner is the awarding of the "Volunteers of the Year" and "Lifetime Achievement Awards. Congratulations to past recipients.
